As my contribution to the gold and tea thread, Whole World makes something called Masala Chai which is made from the African Redbush.

Blurb:Rooibos tea is a naturally soothing drink, sweet in taste… naturally caffeine free, and low in tannin. It comes from the leaves of the Rooibos plant, which grows only in the Cedar Valley, deep in the heart of South Africa. Pure mineral water, fresh mountain air and the hot African sun are the natural elements used to ferment the plants which induces the change from verdant green to the mahogany red of the Rooibos tea. Rooibos is caffeine free, additive free, preservative free, colourant free and very low in tannin, rich in minerals. Acts as a natural substitute for black tea.

Apparently if you drink this tea you will never grow older. I believe that.

"In 1999 the findings from research conducted in Japan indicated that the anti-aging properties found in Rooibos (English Translation – "Red Bush") far exceeded any other known plant on earth. (Only grown in South Africa.)

Studies conducted at the Institute for Science of Aging at AICHI Medical University in Japan, showed Red Tea to contain Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD) - an outstanding antioxidant - popyphenols and flavonoids, all prime fighters of free radical damage."
