More important than dietary supplements is a good diet made of healthy fresh ingredients.

Yesterday I made 4 liters of pesto sauce with my own garlic and basil, as well as 8 liters of pear jam made with fruit from my own tree, so sweet I as usual didn't even bother adding any pectin or sugar. (My friends who I give some to usually admit eating it out of the jar with a spoon.)

This morning I made spaghetti sauce out of 10 lb of luscious organic Roma tomatoes from a farmer I know, with almost all of the rest of the ingredients either from my garden or from organic farmers I know personally.

And I just got back from helping to make 100 liters of cider made from pears and apples grown organically in my and my fellow cider makers' yards.

I do still take a multivitamin on top of it, but if you can manage to eat food made from properly grown ingredients whose provenance you can follow you'll be way ahead of the nutrition game.
