Hydrogen is mercifully dead, at least for now. Not an energy source; an energy carrier. You only get half the energy out of the process that you put in; it takes 2 barrels of oil to produce hydrogen with an equivalent energy of one barrel. The only possible use right now is as a storage form; convert XS wind or solar power to hydrogen, since you can't store much electricity. H was a boon to big industry, and nothing else.
