World War II was not only thrust upon us, we should have intervened much earlier on behalf of the Jews who were the target of German war crimes.

Can you hear it GST?? That big whoooot!! Whooot!! sound advancing quickly upon you??

It's the clue train. And from what I'm currently deriving from your response, you appear to be on the verge of actually purchasing a ticket...

Now translate what you just typed above to the situation between Hizbullah and Israel.

Given that Syria and Iran had spent the past 6 years STRENGTHENING Hizbullah's ability to usurp the sovereignty of Lebanon so they could pursue a war by proxy with Israel, someone should have done some years ago to prevent what happened this summer.

The recent war was THRUST upon Israel.

And let's take this back some 58 years. Israel declares independence and every one of the surrounding Arab nations attempted to wipe it off the face of the map.

That war was ALSO THRUST UPON THEM.

Now let's go to 1956. Nasser not only p*ssed off the Brits and French by nationalizing the Suez Canal, he committed an act of war against Israel by blockading the Straits of Tiran, denying Israel's only southern port access to the Red Sea (from which it received the majority of its oil deliveries from Iran).

Well, you can read the history as to what happened (such as Eisenhower demanding the Brits and French end their occupation).

In 1967, Nasser ONCE AGAIN blockaded the Straits of Tiran, and ordered out the UN peacekeeping force that had been in place since 1956. This was an act of war. Israel pre-emptively struck and wiped out Egypt's Air Force, and then conquered the entirety of the Sinai peninsula.

Syria, in the meantime, was engaging in air attacks, and contemplating ground invasion of N. Israel. Deciding they couldn't succeed in a ground war, they proceeded to shell Israeli territory.. and well.. and the rest is history.

However, one point of note, as I've discussed in previous posts, is that Israel made a determined diplomatic effort in trying to persuade King Hussein not to join in the fighting. But Hussein believed Nasser's lies about being on the verge of defeating the Israelis, and he could no longer resist the pressure from his Generals.

THUS, JORDAN, SYRIA, AND EGYPT EACH THRUST WAR UPON ISRAEL.

See a pattern here? Wonder why Israel still occupies not only the Golan heights, but also the unoccupied portion of the West Bank?

So GST, are you still planning to purchase your ticket for the Clue Train, or are you going to just let it pass on by?
