Of all the countries the US supports, Israel is the only real democracy. Israel is on a scrap of land, why are the Muslim so anxious to get rid of such a small country? Why have they spent billions of dollars to get rid of Israel? The answer is easy of course, Israelis live more like Americans than any other country in the Middle East. If the people in the middle east hate the israelis, it is far easier to explain why they cannot live like Israelis. If the Governments in the middle east can rid themselves of the hated israelis, they don't have to worry about the peasants thinking they have a right to rights, and the money from aid can continue to be put in the pockets of the rulers. Perhaps if the American Government stopped supporting governments that restricted religious rights, you wouldn't need Israel to make the point for you.
Many accuse israel of making Arabs second class citizens, but Arabs simply don't allow a second class.

As to what the US will lose if it stops backing Israel....... that would spoil the surprise,
