I was just reading that TXU is planning to build 11 new coal plants in Texas and 3 new nuclear plants in Texas. Apparently, the government is trying to encourage the construction of 25 new nuclear facilities in the next 10 years.

Natural gas, coal, and nuclear facilities would create something like a 25% excess reserve in Texas by 2011. The new expansion of utility plants by companies like nrg and txu are going to create a lot of jobs.

That should help use up the excess nat gas and coal sitting around. Now, all we have to do is figure out to do with all the extra power.
