Because to a fundamentalist (though not necessarily militant) Muslim, Islam is the fulfillment of all mankind requires, spiritually, politically, and economically. There is no need for political ideologies, political parties, or democratic elections. Everything you need is spelled out in the Quran, according to their belief.

Actually, you could say the same about fundamentalist Jews and Christians, not just Muslims.

But Jews don't want converts. Fundamentalist Christians and Muslims have some similarities, But Fundamentalist Jews simply want israel to be run as a Jewish state. They don't have aspirations of the World being Jewish, they don't want the world to be Jewish. Just their own little patch of earth.

That is a pretty huge difference. Fundamentalist Jews, don't care if you worship Rocky the flying squirrel as long as you don't interfere with them.
