We are, as is frequently the case, talking past one another.

However, you've given me the opportunity to say, once again, one of the great shames of the present administration is it's failure to criticize these attempts to have "liberal" professors fired. And we certainly know that if "they" had the power to do so, that's precisely what they would do. It's an institutional difference between the US and Iran; not a difference of intent.

And did this administration protest such activities? No. In fact, we can expect, given Lynn Cheney's own role in some of this, more than a little sympathy.
