I'd say VOIP is already here. HDTV won't really get started until 2008 or 2009 (forgot which year) that Congress has mandated that TV's go digital.

So here's a question for you engineers out there. I've read that Congress mandated that all broadcasts go digital in one of those years above. But isn't that impossible? I mean, isn't the very fact that you broadcast something over airwaves mean that there has to be a digital (at point of broadcast) to analog (for airwaves) to digital (for your TV). Isn't that right? Then what really is it that the 2008 or 2009 law mandates? And why is that good for companies like Cisco?

Just want to get my facts straight. Thx all!
