Hassan presented at Citi yesterday. Here are some brief notes:
- In the intro, Alex Henderson from Citi said "Story starting to gain a lot of traction. Story is really coming of age"
- Hassan re-iterated 10% growth in H206 vs. H106, BTR above 1.
- Per Hassan, "Market is gathering momentum, moving toward an inflection point"
- A number of customers are now turning down(off) legacy switches and turning up Sonus VoIP switches, the Japanese operators have become aggressive in replacing NEC switches with Sonus.
- Mentioned Verizon in the present tense when discussing work they are doing for their customers.
- Mentioned KDDI, DT, and Cingular as examples of customers where they build, operate for a period of time, then turn over the new network to the operator.
- Said they beat out incumbent NEC at KDDI and are up against them at NTT also. Alex noted NEC is on the board of KDDI. Hassan said they had deployed an enterprise network for NTT, but all of the replacement work at NTT lies ahead.
- Said the big jump in A/R was due to work late in the quarter and the bill has already been paid.
- Re-iterated Sonus is NOT under SEC investigation.
- Gave a broad overview of what they see when competing for new business at incumbent operators. Re-iterated they primarily compete against incumbency, but expanded on it to say the incumbents do not have competitive solutions, so the playing field is level. |
