If by retaliation you mean "getting even" by murdering civilians, I have never suggested that murdering civilians is anything other than a war crime. What is the VERY NATURE OF WAR, if not to "get even, and then some"?? War is NOT a child's game of "tit for tat". The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, we firebombed and nuked their cities, all in the name of destroying their "war production"... Hizbullah attacks Israel's civilian population with Katyusha and Israel destroys their launchers located in civilian areas, as well as the bridges and infrastructure that supported their ability to continue fighting... Don't see any war crime there... Hawk
