Don't you think that the administrations, at the department level, at least, are aware of the political positions of the faculty and approve of them?

You were a science major and I was a history/poly sci major. In history and poly sci having a liberal axe to grind seemed to me like it was not only normal but expected. Overtly right-wing students got zapped.
