Which building are you talking about now? I thought we were talking about #7? In one and two we see debris moving down about the same speed as the buildings, except those that were blown upward first. And lots of small pieces were more susceptible to air resistance. But big chunks were falling at the same rate as the buildings. Dude we're talking free fall time. You can't go any faster than that if you start out at zero velocity. Some pieces may have been blasted downward, because we see them blasted upwards too, so they might have had some initial velocity downward.

On number 7 there was not much debris falling with the building. Bottom line is the timing of the building collapses. Free fall time.
