Not necessarily. The boxes list technologies coming in 2007. They do not say which technologies end up in which products. So, this slide would also be consistent with a rev G QC in 2007, followed by some 'K8L' enhanced-core rev H part later in the year, which might be a DC part, instead of QC, etc.

A demo (due by the end of this year) might clear things up, depending on what details they show.

I also tend to be wary, based on past history, when AMD sends out mid-level execs to give tech briefings which admit bullish interpretations, but aren't crystal clear (i.e. they also have less-bullish interpretations). It's like they want to plump up the stock a bit before a disappointing quarter. And in the past, the bullish interp, when given by these relatively low-level guys, rarely if ever has come to pass.

How hard would it be to say "Our QC part, coming in Q207, will feature our enhanced IPC, 128b FP core." ? Instead, they try to sort of imply it, but not really, when you read closely.

But I should really go back into exile... it's just so difficult to stay away, though. :)

(No current position in AMD, long leap calls INTC)
