To date, most of what we have lost on is manufacturing. We haven't lost manufacturing in the US. We've lost manufacturing employment, primarily due to higher productivity, but we manufacture more in the US than we did in the past. Why do you think the West, including the USA, resists so strongly the reduction of Ag subsides? Because powerful special interests want to keep getting their pork. At some point, people will wake up and realise that Indians and Chinese, OMG, can actually make good CEOs as well, and heck, the company might as well have its headquarters in Mombay rather than New York. And some of them do make good CEO's etc. In the future more of them will. That doesn't mean the US will shrink in response to their growth.
