I lived in Timmins when they were drilling the ring of holes to allow freezing of the ground surrounding that deposit. The ground was once held by Karl Forbes, a Kirkland Lake prospector and promo company honcho who could not afford to drill it. When he dropped it companies rushed into stake it. It was a so-so mine underground, but it runs far higher than the open pit drilling shows as the nugget effect is strong. We hold ground now in the KL area that Karl Forbes also held at the same time and did not drill. I cannot say we would freeze the ground if we find a mine there, or that the same mine after no drilling effect is operative, but is an interesting connection.
