(UK) - Residents in a British city are being asked not to shoot Scottish people with a bow and arrow anymore.

Residents of York can "legally" attack Scots within their city walls, according an ancient by-law which has never been repealed.

In a bid to improve Anglo-Scottish relations, Ewan and Gill Main are asking York citizens to sign a treaty promising to never shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow.

Mr and Mrs Main plan to tour York for two weeks, before heading to Edinburgh to present Scotland with the list of signatures.
