Very good observation. I let science help me choose my politics. Libertarians let ideology guide them in choosing their science. Which one strikes you as wise, and which one foolish?

If your so pure that ideology doesn't effect your scientific beliefs at all than congratulations.

By while your patting yourself on the back recognize that just about every (and maybe actually every) school of political thought does include people who let their ideology color their opinions about scientific and historical controversies. In fact I'd go as far as saying just about every individual lets such biases effect their thoughts in this way to a greater or less extent.

Libertarians don't let ideology guide them in choosing their science any more than other political groups.
