Why can't you be honest with yourself? Before 9/11 no one gave a sh1t about neither Afghanistan nor the Taliban nor anybody living there Apparently someone "gave a sht" about them, or they wouldn't have tried to exploit their chaos and impose a repressive/regressive government upon them and use their country as a terrorist sanctuary from which to carry out their attacks upon the world. Look at the Afghani parliament; it is stacked with warlords that pretend to be democratic which in actual fact they are committing atrocities in the name of democracy and they have the US’ backing.* Don't try and feed us that line of Bullsht!! YOU CLEARLY DON'T GIVE A SHT ABOUT TRYING TO CREATE A FOUNDATION FOR DEMOCRACY IN THE MUSLIM WORLD, LET ALONE AFGHANISTAN.** You've NEVER advocated democratic reform, let alone offer any kind of alternatives that would reform the militant Jihadist trends that are spreading throughout the region. SO DON'T TRY AND CONVINCE US THAT YOU ACTUAL CARE ABOUT WHETHER AFGHANISTAN HAS DEMOCRACY OR NOT. BECAUSE YOU DON'T CARE!! The democratic reforms trying to be implemented in Afghanistan are not perfect, nor are they likely to EVER equate to the kinds of human values that are expected from those in the West. That's just the reality of the situation. The region is flush with brutal and repressive powers that are not going to submit or subjugate themselves to a central authority until they are "encouraged" to do so (with carrots or sticks). But those who believe as I do recognize that we have to at least make the attempt to change things even if we ultimately are unable to overcome the reactionary militancy that your muslim apathy and false pride has permitted to hijack your religion. I stand corrected; my understanding is that the Taliban have a tribal mentality and a tribal way of life. They all have a tribal mentality.. It's the essence of upbringing.. the Tribe. But this is a religious tribe, not one based upon ethnicity. What unites them is a common militant religious belief and Jihadist mission. And from that they are trying to bridge the rivalries and differences between any number of tribal entities and unite them into a religious tribe. And as a religious "tribe" they are willing to work with those tribes that support them, or to undermine and subvert those who don't. Hawk
