So lots of people gave a shit about Afghanistan. Yeah.. I guess if they believe there's a profit in the relationship. Let's face it, very few folks truly do things for an altruistic reason, and certainly the US is no exception. And prior to being required to overthrow the Taliban and destroy/disrupt the Al Qai'da infrastructure in Afghanistan after 9/11, profit was the foremost motivator for any desire to do business with the Taliban. After all, if it wasn't us, it would be the French, or the Chinese.. But I would submit that the level of "giving a sh*t" about Afghanistan is substantially greater today than it was prior to 9/11.
