I'm not exempting any candidate from being able to present a cogent message.
I was just recalling how snooty the libs/MSM were in bad mouthing Bush's speaking skills and grades he received from Yale, during the in 2000 and 2004 election cycles.
That surprised me given their propensity to "sensitivity" and PCness.
I have no use for those who think they are "above" someone who doesn't speak in the "accepted manner".
The libs did the same thing when Ross Perot was a candidate. Quick to criticize his Texan slang and his "ears" Pretty damn shallow AFAIC. Same thing with Bob Dole. They (MSM and the liberal franchise) couldn't wait to laugh at his tendency to use himself in the third person. Apparently, they never read a novel.
Standards and achievement? DB, you must be kidding? I know you have been out the country. But, the education system in the USA has tanked and those with the power (NEA) can't bring themselves to admit it. However, they are very good at being defensive and telling us how tough their teaching job is. I've been there, albeit not long enough for a retirement certificate.
Lincoln was a fine orator. His competitor, Douglas was no slouch.
Surely, you are not saying that a person who campaigns for president must be an orator equivalent to Lincoln. Are you?
I'll settle for a decision maker. HST, RR, TR and people like that. These guys knew how to make decisions and when to make a decison which revised a previously bad one.
Carter and Clinton are, by far, the two worst decision makers as presidents in recent years. Pathetic!
Yet, Clinton was well above average as an orator. He even convinced some of the american public he did not have sex with that woman. LOL |
