Possibly, but there are clear shots of debris falling at the same speed as the floors are collapsing and then this same debris accelerates faster than the collapsing floors and sort of leaves them behind in their decent. Besides, it doesn't surprise me that there was very little air resistance involved with the collapsing building, which equates to a fairly rapid collapse time. The structure was simply going, snap, snap, snap, snap on the way down and with all of the momentum and weight of the falling structure it didn't slow it down.
