Trinity Industries, Inc., a diversified industrial company, provides various products and services for the transportation, industrial, construction, and energy sectors in the United States. It operates in five groups: Rail, Construction Products, Inland Barge, Energy Equipment, and Railcar Leasing and Management Services.

The Rail group manufactures and sells railcars and component parts, such as tank cars, auto carrier cars, hopper cars, box cars, intermodal cars, gondola cars, and specialty cars. The Construction Products group offers highway products, concrete and aggregates, girders, and beams used in the construction of highway and railway bridges, and weld fittings used in pressure piping systems. It also distributes construction aggregates, such as crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and recycled concrete. The Inland Barge group provides barges and related products, such as deck barges, and open or covered hopper barges that transport various commodities, including grain, coal, and aggregates, as well as tank barges used for transporting liquid products. The Energy Equipment group manufactures and sells products for energy related businesses, including tank heads, pressure and nonpressure containers for the storage and transportation of liquefied gases and other liquid and dry products, and structural wind towers. The Railcar Leasing and Management Services group provides fleet management, maintenance, and leasing services.

The company’s customers include railroads, leasing companies, and shippers, such as utilities, petrochemical companies, grain shippers, and construction and industrial companies.

Trinity Industries was incorporated in 1933 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
