"Nuclear bombs cannot easily be bought. The Russians even didn't allow the Iranian gov to move their nuclear facilities into Russian territory. So I think Irans have to continue the current progress of uranium enrichment. But the question is: when will they get enough of the material to build THE bomb "

I don't think it will come from the russian Government but from some disaffected Russian. OTOH I am not sure they actually want to start building bombs. As opposed to getting wads of US cash and assistance in other places. But i believe we have to make decisions not on what i think but on worst case scenarios.

One of the reasons i suspect they want the US to become more friendly, is that they perceive a danger that Israel will become afraid, and lay waste to iran, just as they did lebanon. Facing that kind of battering might make the Iranian Government think carefully about what they are doing. But they have to save face doing it. They cannot just stop, so i think they are hoping the US will give them a way out.
