Where would AMD be without the x86-64 backwards compatible 64-bit ISA? Where would AMD be if HTX was not received well by OEMs and the market? Where would AMD be if MOBO manufacturers didn't support Opteron for servers? (and that was a close call). AMD bet the farm on the K8. But AMD knew they held pocket Aces, so that's when you DO bet the farm. -Magrathea
