I'm not sure K8 really qualifies as "betting the farm," especially after the success of K7. Sanders dictated the strategy of a head-on conflict with Intel over the future Intel's crown jewel, the x86 ISA. Without K8, there would be no farm. If you want to quibble over whether K8 was a "bet the farm" or "save the farm" move, feel free... I just thought you were downplaying Jerry's role in the history of K8. fpg
