Where are the NIST statements distancing them from the pancake theory?

The WTC is full of glass, empty space, dry wall, plastic and tons and tons of paper. It isn't a concrete building like the Pentagon --- now where that plane disappeared to is, IMO, much more problematic.

Also IMO, we have to rely on alert and active individuals (sometimes even us if we are unlucky enough) to prevent or mitigate the consequences of future attacks. The 'system' can't be relied on because it includes too much bureaucracy and too many stupid people.

What the 'system' can do is mitigate the aftermath, the idiocy of over reaction after any such attack.
