Dan, after reading both of the articles Tony T. mentioned I am definitly "enlightened" and as much in the dark as ever. I feel there is collusion among them and that they are at least trying to make a killing on the spreads, maybe make a little extra on the options like the Wiz says, but the issue that I am trying to come to grips with is "does it matter to the market makers which direction the stock is moving?" Obviously, it would only matter to the mm IF he or she had a stake in the company. In other words do they accumulate a position in a company in anticipation of an increase in price and of demand or do they just rely on the "old boy network" and make their money just on the spreads and options. Appreciate your input and who needs a casino when we've got wall street! Stan
