A shorting technique. Has anybody tried this? Short overpriced stocks about a week before the earnings anouncement. I am not sure of the odds but it seems like you have about a 2 in 3 chance that the stock will go down. Either the earnings will disappoint versus the analyst's estimates, or the management guidance will be a little cautious. This requires some research time using the earnings calendar and choosing the stocks, and is probably better suited to traders (which I am not).
