Bush's speech tonight was directed as much to the flap being made by Col. Devlin's dire assessment of conditions in Anbar province, which borders Jordan and Syria, and is enormous and desolate, as it was for mass consumption.

Anbar has Fallujah and Ramadi, is mostly Sunni, and is a piece of the world we won't miss if it disappears.

Let the Sunnis have it, don't fret about it. No oil I think but lots and lots of sand and scorpions. Would you miss a bad penny out of your pocket?
