You can slice the cake any way you want to. I am of the school of thought that the world at large and the United States especially is much safer than it was five years ago. We know more about our enemy and that alone makes us safer. The fact that a previous administration had played the "What, Me Worry?" game with foreign terrorist attacks against US assets made us less safe. The fact that we are taking the conflict to them and fighting over there makes us safer.
