No, the problem lies with his very close relationship with the military contractors. It makes sense for Cheney to favor a long protracted military venture. The relationship between the WH and military contractors is not completely arms length. Saudis blow up the world trade center. Cheney and Rumsfeld immediately turn around and say we must invade Iraq.... The whole thing stinks. The Iraqi invasion was flawed from the start. To argue otherwise ignores what we see in the news everyday. If the president was doing a good job the invasion of Iraq would be over and the Iraqis would be jubilant. But they are not. The WH ordered an invasion with no mind for the aftermath. Powell warned the president repeatedly. "If you invade Iraq, are you prepared to own it." Clearly he was not.
