I had an odd transaction with Home Depot yesterday, which I post on the off chance that it might be useful to others.

My window screens are anchored in their grooves by little plastic pins with springs in them. They break easily. I had bought a supply once at some little business in an industrial park but it's no longer there. I tried Home Depot with no luck.

So I went on the internet and found that they are called "screen plunger bolts." A search on screen plunger bolts brought up lots of sites all of which referred me to Home Depot for purchase. Problem is that, while the Home Depot site listed the item, it was flagged as unavailable.

After much frustration, I somehow ended up on Home Depot's site for businesses, not consumers. It's hdsupply.com. When I registered they offered me a choice of what business I was in so I selected "apartment." LOL. Anyway, I ordered the items and they've already been shipped.

So, if you can't find something at Home Depot, try their business arm.
