Huh-oh. Y'all are about to get me started on the public school thing.

I think public schools are fine for kids who fit within a couple standard deviations of the norm. For those that are outside those measures, either above or below, public schools aren't equipped, and don't WANT to be equipped to accomodate them. They kinda like "special ed" because of all the extra money involved, so long as "special" means way out at the tail end of the low side of the bell curve.

But, I don't think that the funding should be provided at public expense for each and every case of exceptional performance, either. At least, not in the public school system.
