Maybe Bush's constant talk of freedom is because he wants lots and lots of it, but is forgetting that freedom means OTHER people's freedom, not his. His life is quite circumscribed really, and I guess always has been, just from his family background. No running barefoot in the wild for him. His father was always a big noter, which is a problem for children living in their shadow, with constant scrutiny.
I'm not surprised he was on the turps and whatever in his "wild and 'free' younger days". Such pharmaceutical aids are a common, and excellent release from personal psychic imprisonment and woes. Similarly for religion. Which he has enthusiastically, adopted, allegedly. Opiate of the masses and all that.
<So Bush has been trying to force Chevron to sell back these lease, for which he has no legal basis. But much of Bush's presidency has been hallmarked by a contemptuous disregard of law.>
Thanks for the background. Sounds like it's just the government wanting to do a grab, not that they actually made a mistake which Chevron knew about and had agreed to. I realize a lot of contracts include - "the contract is in entirety, and replaces ALL prior discussions, arrangements, ideas, agreements, quid pro quos and other things whether inadvertently left out of the written version or otherwise not appearing in the text of this here document. No if's, but's, or maybe's, or apostrophe's in the wrong place. Though those are apparently kosher.
