Navteq Receives Government Contract biz.yahoo.com Wednesday September 13, 12:17 pm ET Navteq Receives Government Contract to Provide Road Network, Other Data to Agencies CHICAGO (AP) -- Navteq Corp., which makes navigation systems for cars, said Wednesday it received a government contract for an undisclosed sum to provide road network and standard points-of-interest data under a governmentwide enterprise license to agencies that support homeland defense. Points of interest include locations such as restaurants, hospitals, shopping centers and leisure facilities. "We are pleased to be recognized as an important component in the government's strategy to provide infrastructure information for road and transportation programs and critical initiatives such as homeland security," Roy Kolstad, vice president and general manager of business and government solutions, said in a statement.
