Using peoplemarks as a gauge to assess market acceptance is certainly of questionable validity, given the myriad reasons one might choose to peoplemark any poster...

Ignores might be a better gauge, though the reasons for that action are likely variable as well. At minimum, an "ignore" implies that the ignoror does not want private contact from the ignoree, or so I've heard. That would, at minimum, suggest a degree of dislike or distrust. If the ignoror actually employs the feature to insulate him or herself from the ignoree, that would suggest a disinterest in what the ignoree has to say, whether as a matter of content or even for the occasional giggle. In that context, "ignore" is rather like eradicating an offensive poster from one's personal universe. A bit more extreme than the errant peoplemark....

As for "bans", I'm not even going to go there...lol.
