OK. Show me where the Constitution gives the US the right to commit the armed forces to the enforcement of its (UN) binding resolutions.

The constitution gives the president authority as commander in chief and gives congress the power to declare war. To be so specific as to mention the UN (even if the UN had existed at the time) would have been unnecessary even silly. The government of a sovereign state has control over its military and can order its deployment.
