There's kind of a fad for gardeners to grow crops from "legacy" seeds. Listening to a gardening show on Wi Pub Radio, the expert was saying people who grow these plants are finding they are hard to grow, have low yields, and are susceptible to lots of diseases. Exactly the reasons the big seed companies were motivated to invest the capital to create the new hybrid varieties.

I do wonder why plant breeders put flavor is so far down their list of desirable characteristics.
