James, Martin Luther wouldn't accept James as Holy Writ, once he got a hold of the teaching of salvation by grace. He said James should be thrown out of the Bible. Maybe he should have joined your denomination of dispensationalists. <ggg> Clearly, James, Steve and Barry have made excellent points. And saying the "Bible can be controversial" unless one "rightly divides the word of truth" may be a true statement, but a two-edged sword. When James states for example: "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the LORD; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the LORD will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him." James5:13-15 I appreciate the fact that the first century Jews had such a scripture and a wonderful teaching. However, I believe that is for me as well! And for you! And for Martin Luther! When a fellow-believer (whether Jew or Gentile) is suffering (even as Greg requested on these posts), we should pray! etcetera. Maybe you should join my denomination. <ggg>
