And if your premise is true, then it is also safe to say that if the pacification of Iraq had been done competently (and nobody still hangs on to the idea that it was, what with Rummy now admitting that he didn't even want plans on the subject), we would be much safer as well....maybe our troop count in Iraq would be half of what it is today...maybe the civilian deaths would be fewer...maybe the infrastructure would work, maybe we could actually engage Iran is we had to....maybe, maybe, maybe.
