Rosemary, Your answer was only half right. Visi-calc was the first visual spread sheet, which paved the way for lotus 1 2 3, within 1 2 3 was the making of what we call today software suites. Also, 1 2 3 made it possible to use a IBM PC for business purposes, so the IBM PC became mass produced product, which in turn has given us DELL and the PC industry we have today. 1 2 3 also, gave Lotus enough cash to make notes. Which was good since 1 2 3 was beaten by MS excel. Notes beget cc:mail, which beget Domino, which does for corporations, that Netscape can only hope to do. So as you see Visi-calc is the mother of all visual computing, software and hardware we have today that we call the PC industry. So there you have it. The root to it all. Greg
