Yeah, I saw an article recently on BMW's hydrogen car. If memory serves me correctly, this is something they've been working on for many decades. I seem to recall something from a long time ago that they originally had problems with emissions being rather toxic, but I don't remember any details. According to theory, the only emissions should be water vapor, but for some reason they were getting other stuff as well.

The article you posted looks more like a sales pitch than anything else, and doesn't offer much in the way of obvious questions such as how much does hydrogen cost, how much power is required to make and compress it, etc..

IMO, hydrogen makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways. 3/4ths of the Earth's surface is covered with the stuff. The trick is putting it in the tank cheaply and easily. I don't get the impression we're quite there yet, but my hat's off to anyone working in that direction.
