Fiorina bet heavily on the PC sector just as it was becoming a commodity. When she was let go the company quickly shed duplicate efforts in PC production.

Two months after she left HPQ's PC division posted stronger than expected profits, and has improved their PC operating margin ever since. That PC profit improvement is from actions taken during Fiorina's time period, but they kicked in just immediately when she was fired - you can't attribute that to brand new CEO Hurd.

Had she been give 6 more months as CEO SHE would be getting the accolades for that, not Hurd. Hurd is the luckiest CEO around while he reaps what she sewed.
