Isn't it ironic that the Iraqis are now asking the Iranians to help them maintain law and order? Perhaps we are using different definitions of the word "ironic"? Iran is funding Shia insurgency in Iraq and Lebanon, furnishing weapons, money, men, technology, etc. What's wrong with asking them to stop? How is that ironic?
