To suggest that more companies are increasing their benefits than decreasing their benefits is absolutely ludicrous.

Average compensation through benefits has gone up. I have no information on how many companies have increased spending on benefits vs. how many have decreased such spending, but that isn't really the issue, and I doubt you have any information about it either.
