Playing cards is considered a sin by some, even if you're not gambling. Not sure why but I remember being lectured by a guy I knew who was sort of fantatical.

He was schizophrenic, used to set fire to the cross in Catholic Churches. Got so when the priests would see him coming they'd dial 911 and he'd be carted off again to make him take his meds.

But I am sure there must be something about cards somewhere, he suffered from excessive literalism but not hallucinations.
