I wasn't planning on educating people on the finer points of Catholic theology, just pointing out that some versions of Christianity believe that you can believe in both the Bible and evolution at the same time.

I mentioned the fact the Pope wasn't speaking ex cathedra was to point out that they're still working on this.

I expect a formal proclamation soon that God is still in the picture as far as Catholics are concerned, but exactly what or how remains to be seen.

I am not expecting a Catholic version of "irreduceable complexity," though.
