Liar. The rightwing dishonestly schemed to attack the very successful and popular President Clinton with a bogus Whitewater charge which had no merit or importance.

When the partisan prosecutor Ken Starr (linked to the religious right and now guilty of fraud in a recent trial) couldn't find anything the Clintons had ever done wrong in their entire lives, he went into the president's personal, private sex life. There had been a 200 year tradition to respect the presidency and never do that kind of thing, but the rightwing had no scruples. They intimidated witnesses and finally found a woman Clinton had had an affair with, blowing it up into such a "big issue" that they even mocked Clinton for fighting Al Qaida during the trial. They called Clintons many atttempts to kill Osama Bin Laden "wagging the dog" remember?

While embarrassing, consensual sex is totally legal, but Starr and the rightwing insisted Clinton must be put under oath and asked if he cheated on his wife. As 95% of marrried men would do, Clinton fudged the truth or lied. That, the rightwing claimed was grounds for impeachment and removal from office. Even though Clinton had been one of the most effective, responsible and honest presidents in our history and produced the finest sustainable economy in 40 years.

So shall we put GW Bush on the stand and ask him about his sex life, cocaine use, white collar crime and various other cases of fraud, lying, corruption and unethical behavior? Fine, if that's the new standard. And we can call in Tammy Phillips, Houston stripper who claims she had an affair with Bush in the mid 90's.
