Gapology .. I really don't know JF ..

But Let me "Open Up a Can of Worms" ... LOL

I look at Gaps as a Function of the Chart. I see Gaps as a Point where there are MAs or Fib Retracements or Gann Fan Lines or some other "Force". Since Gann Lines and MAs move in "Price With Time" hence not remain Static at a Fixed Price Point ... the Gap can mean nothing other than ... It's a Gap.

If the Gap occurs at a Point of Previous Consolidation the underlying cause could be a Fib Retracement so I look to see if there is a Previous area of consolidation there. The Gap Means little ... it's the Fib # or Consolidation Area that does.

In other words .. There are so many other things to look at I don't pay much attention to the Gap its self.

Sergio or Ken are the ones to ask about Gaps .. They pay Homage to Gaps much more than I do .. I tend to acknowledge them them and look for the underlying cause or reasons for the Gap.

However thinking that a Gap Will Fill .. is pure Gap Crap ..[I've been waiting Patiently to say that ;)]. LOL

Some Gaps "NEVER FILL" ... and Never Will.

Focusing on a Gap Fill is nonsensical Especially if the Gap is COUNTERTREND and other than a Common Gap or Exhaustion Gap. But they call them Common Gaps are "Common" that's why they named them that I Recon. lol

But Common Gaps are not the only Gap in the Ocean of a Chart.

Knowing the Difference is Important. Gaps do help identify or Confirm the Current Trend under the correct circumstances and Reverse it in others.

Failure to Properly Identify the Type of Gap or underlying causation ....

is like Playing Russian Roulette.

Just My 2 Sense ??

BTW: That 'Must' be why there are 'No Gaps' in Point and Figure Charts. LOL
